Wordpress not allowing me to add or change anything..

Ive been using Wordpress on a local server however am unable to create or change the blog/posts entries, tbh i cant really do anything?

I trying to build a theme from scratch and it keeps coming up with this sort of message

"Not Found

The requested URL /Working sites/WP-Site/wp-admin/post.php was not found on this server."

Any ideas of what i may have doen and do you have to have it linked to a live website in order to start setting up a wordpress theme? ie: you cant build it offline even using just Mamp?

Thanks,

Any help would grateful

It might seem obvious but check your table prefixes - running multiple instances of WP on Mamp can lead you to overwrite rows in your database if you kept the standard wp_ leading to some errors.

So what would be the best to overcome this? how do i change the prefixes once installed?

This is the only WP site that is running on mamp so unsure if thats the problem or not?

I am currently messing around with things to solve this issue..

You can build your site using a local server like Mamp. It looks like you have a space in your URL? I don't thing browsers can read spaces in your URL. I believe you need to put a %20in place of the space.

As that web address worked in the past?

Thanks for all your responses, im just moving through the guide again "building a wordpress theme" and think i forgot to add pages or at least the templates at the beginning.. my mistake. As not very far through this creation quite easy to work through it again.

I did think about the spaces in the URL but because created locally didnt think it made a difference?

Thanks again, will post once im fully happy with how it works.
