Wordpress - Setting up the Environment - MAMP

Hi Everyone.

I'm trying to set up my local environment on MAMP for the Wordpress local install tutorial. I'm following along with the video but running into an issue when adding the 'wpuser' to my 'wplocal' database.

The two errors I'm receiving after entering my user details and clicking 'go' are:

  • 3009 - Column count of mysql.user is wrong. Expected 45, found 43. Created with MySQL 50638, now running 50723. Please use mysql_upgrade to fix this error.

  • The selected user was not found in the privilege table.

There's nothing different about the steps I'm following to those in the video. My version of MAMP is a more recent one (5.1). Could this be the issue? Any help resolving would be great.

Thanks

I managed to solve the issue by updating the MySQL DB, with a scheduled update through MAMP.
