Wordpress sites for clients

When creating small wordpress sites for client who are only going to update content, do we need to set up staging area as well or would this be too much and too confusing for clients? Thank you for any advice

You don't need a staging area for editing content. Editing code or functionality is a different story. But if they are simply updating the blog etc it shouldn't break if it was built properly.
