working on windows, dont know why it is untracked file

DELL pc@BaBu MINGW64 ~/my_ecommerce_project (master)

$ git commit -a -m "Added a project functionality information"

On branch master

Initial commit

Untracked files:

    README.txt

nothing added to commit but untracked files present

Unsure why it wasn't added, unless there's something in gitignore about that file.

Have you tried adding everything with either:

git add .

// or 

git add -A

What does git status tell you?
