Workspace Preview Not Working??

Hi,

Is any body else's Workspace Preview playing up??

I've noticed the change in port selection ?

Hi Craig,

Sorry for the trouble. Can you please post a screenshot so we can see what problem you're having?

Thanks for being a Treehouse Student!

Cheers, Ryan

Ryan, it brings up a form for me which I need to fill out. It's like a sign in form. Basic info, then profile, and a "sign up" button (while logged in to teamtreehouse.com). Next, i get a 500 Server Error msg. I really like the design of the workspace and i have preferred this to other code editors except for this one hiccup. Looking forward to days when it will work again.

Hi Craig Watson . I'm sorry that Workspaces is giving you trouble.

I took a look at your particular case, and it does seem as though the php file may have errors in it, but workspaces is not adequately reporting them to you, so a blank page is being displayed, but no error reporting. Does that sound like what's going on?

I'm going to investigate why PHP error messages seem to not be displayed.

Ian Applegate , what exactly did you click that brought you through the signup page. That's very bizarre.

Hi Jim Hoskins,

Yesterday there was trouble just getting workspaces to open in general to edit them it didnt seem to even want to open the files let alone preview in browser.

But this morning all well I used a file from previous course HTML Website and the Preview Worked fine, fixed errors in php works fine!

So back to business as usual thanks Jim!

same here but when i use visual studio code my program is running, i am currently on RSVP app JavaScript. how do i fix it? because i cant keep on downloading zipfiles over and over. please help, thanks in advance.

Alright, tagging Jim Hoskins and Andrew Olson so they can look into this.

Bad News on the workspaces front, now it simply wont load once I choose my project to open....

This may be that it is being fixed but I thought it best I keep you up to date with the snag...

Putting this aside Thanks to Treehouse I am building for a career that I can work around my illness Big thanks to Ryan and all the people involved !!

Hi marsha spell

The link you posted will not work once you close your workspace, so I took a look at your workspace myself. What I saw when I clicked preview was a listing of the files in your workspace, because there was no index.html or index.php to display. Is that what you get when you preview from workspaces?

All my index.html is gone. I don't know why I did not erase it, so i went back tried to put a some more code back in to see if it would work here is what I get when i try to preview it Index of /

../ css/ 05-Oct-2014 03:44 - img/ 05-Oct-2014 03:20 - facebook-wrap.png 25-Jul-2014 18:59 543

Marsha Spell I just checked your workspace and the reason you are seeing the 'index of/' text is because there is still not index.html file in the Workspace. Adding that in will fix your preview.

All the text is just showing what is contained inside your Workspace. Since there is no index file, your browser doesn't know what to show you, so it just shows you the files.

Happy learning!
