33,856 PointsI'd recommend at least a decent understanding of the basic front-end languages before jumping into Wordpress development. However, you can do that if you like — you'll just probably need some of those skills eventually for WP development.
You might go with the Front-end Development track and later Wordpress Development.
It doesn't hurt to switch around if you're feeling stuck or need to refresh your mind and jump around.
