Xampp not installing properly in Windows 8.1. Anyone else having issues?

Error log when I attempt to open Xampp...

Hi there. I've got Xampp running on Windows 8.1 fine... Have you looked in the error logs? Is your Firewall maybe causing problems? Did you put Xampp in the root of C:// ??

Hi Tawny,

Yes, I put Xampp in the root. ( I also unfortunately followed some advice when getting a "port already in use" message. Went through and changed values still not working.

I have gone back to my old trusty dusty Win7 machine for now. I also posted my full error report to the Xampp ApacheFriends forum but haven't gotten any responses there.
