Xcode 6.2 throwing null exception in BlogPost instance method thumbnailURL instead of in TableViewController

Looks like Xcode is doing a better job catching errors earlier in the execution.

I dumped the if else statement in the tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath

and added within BlogPost.m

-(NSURL *) thumbnailURL
  NSURL *urlForThumbnail;

  if ([_thumbnail isKindOfClass:[NSNull class]]) {
    // local resource
    urlForThumbnail = [[NSBundle mainBundle] URLForResource:@"treehouse" withExtension:@"png"];

      // remote resource
      urlForThumbnail = [NSURL URLWithString:_thumbnail];

  return urlForThumbnail;

It now runs as intended. Thoughts?
