Xcode IDE screen won't open after first launch

I'm new to Macs and OSX operating systems, please forgive my ignorance :)

I just downloaded Xcode and used it today to write a bit of code in C. But once I closed the IDE, I can't seem to get to the Xcode IDE screen.

In other words, I started my first project file (I'm working in C), and as usual, it has the helloworld.c file already in. I just can't seem to get the IDE screen to show itself again.

I've looked online for solutions...but nothing seems to help. Sorry :( I'm so unused to Macs.

Thanks, Bonnie

have you tried searching for xcode? or opening finder and navigating to your applications directory and opening xcode from there?

I would try reinstalling it from the App Store
