Xib file as the new iOS 8 Splash Screen

I want to know what would be the bets suggestion to do a PNG sequence Animation on the Xib file that is standard for iOS 8 apps.

Currently I cant find the xib's code if I press the smart editor. Do I just create a new class? Or is there already a class I should edit?

OR Should I just make a story board for my app start up? Will that work in iOS 7?
