Currently I'm a huge fan of yarn. It's incredibly fast and I love the it generates a lock file so I can be sure to install the same versions if I have to install the npm modules again regardless of how the package.json outlines the versions to use. There are some benchmarks I've heard about where the new npm v5 brings a ton of performance improvements so time will tell on that one.
