Android Build a Simple Android App (2014) Basic Android Programming Accessing Views in Code

You can name the variable whatever you want. It doesn't necessarily has to be factLabel and showDailyButton, right?

does the naming of variables differently will give me output which is different then what he will have in the video. Or would I get some sort or error or something while trying to run it..

As you say, you can name variables anything you choose, with the exceptio of reserved words. As long as you consistently reference the variable correctly, your app will function precisely the same.
