I've heard this a lot. Does anyone agree with this? Really like to hear the thoughts of any ios devs here.
I was doing the ios techdegree but dropped out after hearing this during a chat. I wasn't going to waste money knowing that since I didn't have a college degree, I was never getting a job as an ios dev. So now I'm deciding between FS javascript or waiting for the new ux techdegree to come out. College at my age just isn't an option, plus I hate being in a classroom setting.

This might obviously differ based on location, but in general, I have a hard time believing you would not be able to land a job because of the lack of a college degree. Doesn't matter if it's for a role as a Web Developer or an iOS Developer. As a matter of fact, my company often recruit developers without degrees. So I am afraid you're sitting on bad information, or live in a town where there is a huge abundance of developers!
Most companies do ask for a degree in their ads, but then they also ask for 5 years of experience using a library that was created 2 years earlier. So don't get stuck on all the details when you're applying for a job :)

In fact Google, Apple and IBM are just some of companies that no longer require employees to have a college degree.

259 PointsI had too since I wasn't going to college. I also didn't like that it didn't go over any objective C. Yes, swift is the future, but there are still so many jobs out there also wanting objective C knowledge for obvious reasons.
