WordPress

writing plugins

i would like to know when developing for Wordpress should take the php track since i want to focus writing plugins. also should i study front end development for theme development. also is any else needed to be a grounded Wordpress developer expert?

I'd recommend at least a decent understanding of the basic front-end languages before jumping into Wordpress development. However, you can do that if you like — you'll just probably need some of those skills eventually for WP development.

You might go with the Front-end Development track and later Wordpress Development.

It doesn't hurt to switch around if you're feeling stuck or need to refresh your mind and jump around.

Absolutely start at the beginning with HTML and CSS. Then move on to jQuery and PHP with mySQL. Only after getting a good handle on those, look at WordPress theme development before finally finishing at WordPress plugin development.
