In this section, we are going
to begin building our wireframe.

A wireframe is a simple sketch.

It is about placement and
the arrangement of elements.

It will help us quickly iterate different
possibilities when planning a site's

structure and functionality.

We'll be creating two wireframes,
both a mobile and web version,

to give our clients a basic idea of
what their finished site will look like.

In this section, you'll plan the layout
and arrangement of the key page elements.

Good systems are the basis and
starting point for almost any design.

Using this structure will help us to
organize and communicate more clearly.

To create a grid, you need to
first be able to create guides.

To do this,
let's first turn on our rulers.

We will go to View > Rulers, and

we have hide rulers and show rulers.

You can see that my rulers
are being shown right now.

So if I do Cmd + R, that hides them.

CMD + R brings them back.

Rulers act like rulers
do in the real world.

They help you to accurately place and
measure objects.

They're also how you're going
to create ruler guides.

So, to create a ruler guideline,
you go up to either your horizontal or

vertical ruler bar and
you click on the ruler.

Hold and drag out and
while you're still pressing

on your mouse you can see that it's
creating a preview of your guide,

and wherever you would like that guide
to be that's when you would release.

So if I wanna create more
horizontal guidelines,

I just go up here, click and hold,
and drag, and there's another.

click and hold, and drag from here.

And you can see right here,
this is a simple example of a grid system.

Because we're using intersecting
guidelines to create in structure content.

So that's exactly what that is.

And remember,

when we're using guides, guides do
not show up in your final design.

They're really just there to help you
to align your text and graphic objects.

If you would like to hide your guides,
you can go to View > Guides,

and here we have Hide Guides, Lock Guides,
which are already locked now, and clear.

So because we're not gonna be using these
particular guides, I'll go ahead and

hit Clear and they will pop off.

If you would like to just see a grid,
we can scroll down to View > Show Grid.

And in some cases this might help
you if you just wanna base this

these really awesome things called
smart guides And they're different,

because they're temporary snap to
guides that are going to appear

only when you're creating and manipulating
objects, and then they go away.

Those are permanent,
unless you delete them, or clear them.

how smart guides work.

I have a lot of green lines appearing.

This is all smart guide information
that's just temporary so it's telling

And not only is it giving us information
related to the other objects,
