Welcome to Photoshop1:52 with Shon Dempsey
Welcome to our understanding digital media course. We’ll kick off the course by defining who should take this course, our purpose, goals and finally the project we’ll end up with.

Software Adobe Photoshop CC
[SOUND] Hello there, I'm Shon Dempsey, a freelance graphic designer with over
13 years of professional experience, and quite a few more just playing around.
Designer photography is more accessible than it ever has been.
Hardware is better, software is less expensive, and
decent cameras are in our pockets.
Naturally more people are interested in either making a career in design, or
wanna just elevate their photos.
Making your creations look great on devices and in print can be overwhelming.
If you're like I used to be, taking a photo and just hoping for
the best when it prints, it can certainly lead to some frustration or
concessions in your standards.
I'm gonna spend some time demystifying displays,
resolution, [SOUND] graphic types, color and more [SOUND].
Setting up your documents from the very beginning with these things in mind is so
critical for the success of your project.
Lucky for us, quite a few apps these days take some of the guesswork out of it for
us with templates.
We'll be able to make any adjustments to those templates and
understand why we're making them.
I want you to leave this course with the foundation of those ideals,
so your next creation, or the next time you ask for a creation,
you've got some working knowledge of what that will entail to get started.
I also wanted to provide an introduction to one of the most prolific graphics
programs, Adobe's Photoshop.
We'll do a flyover tour of their user interface, and
learn the structure of a Photoshop document.
Finally, we'll combine some photo color correction tools with a few other
elements, to lay out advertising graphics formatted for web, a mobile app, and
a Twitter post.
