Hello, I recently found this site and have probably spent way to much time watching videos with my free trail. I love the service and am about to be charged for the Pro plan. However after a review between the two, I am not sure the Pro plan is right for me.
Please be advised I did try to search this site for more details about the two plans and what the features under the Pro meant but was unable to find anything that helped me understand them better.
From my understanding, the accounts break down with the following access.
Basic
- high quality video courses
- Interactive tools
- On-demand learning
- Supportive community of students
Pro
- All features of the Basic plan, plus:
- Watch talks from industry leaders
- Enjoy exclusive bonus content
- Download videos for offline learning
So as I was reading the difference, the only I actually understand what it means is Download videos for offline learning. Which is cool and all, but I have awesome internet and a stupid amount of data on my phone. So I am cool with watching the videos over an internet connect.
However, before I decide to drop down to Basic simply because I have no idea what Watch talks from industry leaders or Enjoy exclusive bonus content is referring to I felt as though I should as the community to maybe better understand what these two things are. Maybe they are amazing and are a reason I should go with a Pro plan or maybe that just still don't fit me and a Basic plan is better for me.
Thank you for any advice.

The biggest difference is the ability to download the courses for offline learning.
The talks are from seminars and conferences from the tech industry that Treehouse offers for viewing. There are many hours available on a variety of topics.
While you're still on the Pro plan, you can have a look at the conferences, The many tips, tricks and series in the Bonus area. There are also a few courses that are only available to the Pro subscribers. You should have enough here to make an educated decision on which plan is best for you.

2,215 PointsI am planning to upgrade to premium membership but I would like to know how do we download the videos? are they downloaded as zip of mp4 files? Or is there any time based expiration for videos?

Treehouse Moderator 145,858 PointsEach video can be downloaded individually from the links under the video ("Downloads"). These are .mp4 files.
Alternatively, if you have iTunes, you can download the entire course at once using the iTunes link that is locate on the Course's homepage on the right side about half way down.
There is no time expiration. Once you download them, you have them for as long as you keep them. (I'm not sure how the iTunes downloads work, as I don't use that feature. I download individually as I watch).
