Feature Request: Reset a course

i'd like this feature as well please.

I'm hoping for something like this, especially since I forget everything I started in iOS and Ruby.

Like it and want it too. I like to see: -- A total reset switch: Start with a fresh account -- A track reset switch -- Reminder or refreshers for skills already learned (Check duolingo.com, they are doing this perfectly well)

I totally agree! A reset button should be easy to make :) It should work like this: Reset track and remove alle points/badges from this track.

Good points DT and Rasmus. Let's hope the folks at treehouse are considering this. Haven't heard anything yet.

You just Actually the treehouse support is able to reset the account. This is how I did it in the end. You just have to ask them. Though, I would still prefer the option as part of the account settings.

I would love this feature too. I took a long hiatus by beginner's standards (3 weeks) and forgot a lot of my PHP. A restart feature would be useful instead of having to remember where I left off each time I log in.

If this hasn't been implemented yet I highly recommend it's implemented. The gamification elements Treehouse has built into their learning system is top notch, but we need a way to reset courses we need to take again.

Travis & everyone... still think that this is on the back-burners. I agree still that much of the material needs to be repeated, especially in the advanced courses and being able to go back to the quizzes is helpful. I haven't seen anything more from Treehouse.

I would enjoy this too, I have left off the ios course and would like to go back and start fresh.. Guess I can do that just catch up and redo the quizzes.

Yes, I'd like to see that too. I just completed a course but I'm not entirely happy with my understanding of the subject matter. I'd like to reset and redo it until the concepts become clear.

Is this likely to happen anytime soon, Treehouse folks? If not, I'm going pause my account until it does.

Perhaps even better a revision or some sort of test bank for each course that can be redo unlimited times, probably also a summary page with all the key points and tips. This could be much more time efficient for the purpose of reviewing old material?

I've been on a break from learning about programming for several months now due to a move. I'm eager to get restarted, but I can't reset my progress again since I've already used my account reset.

Is this feature still in progress?

I would love this as well. I stopped learning about 2 years ago and have only recently picked it back up so there is a heap I have forgotten that I need to go back over. This would make it so much easier.

I'd like to add my support for this. Just came back after months away and I want to repeat some things. Some other places I've taken classes have this feature and it's very handy.

Wanted to resurrect this post for visibility. Haven't seen much progress on this feature for awhile. Is it still under consideration? I came back from another 2-month break and could have really made use of resetting course progress. I'm also still seeing posts in the forums from users looking for this functionality.

I've exhausted my account resets, but I'm aware of that option. I'd just be interested in a course by course reset as I don't want to lose all my progress.

+1 to this. I'm experiencing an issue where several courses in a track seemed to have automatically progressed. I'm attempting to just work my way through it, but it's quite jarring to end a segment and jump to another unrelated segment.

Yes to this idea. I have recently reactivated my account after 2 years, It would be easier to start from scratch.

This feature request is still on the books, but we don't have an ETA to share at this time. To those of you who remember us having the feature in the past, you're not dreaming — we had the feature for years. But there was a backend data issue with it that was causing more problems than it was solving and we had to remove it.

We want to bring this feature back and we will in due time, but it is not something we will rush. We have a list of priorities that we have to stick to and unfortunately, some requests and additions we'd like to add get moved both up and down on this list.

When this feature is reintroduced, we will let everyone know and I will also update this thread. Thank you all for your continued patience and understanding.

Thanks for the update. Seems like there is quite a bit of interest for this, and is a pretty essential feature that Udacity and many other online education sites have. Hopefully it finds its way to the top of the priority list soon ;)

Rob - That's a great start! Glad to see that this thread stayed alive and that your team stayed engaged. I think you could take it the rest of the way by allowing students to do this for themselves.

I don't want a reset feature, but rather a retake course—not loosing any earned points. Trust me, I use my points as a reference point and loosing my progress & data would be heart crushing!
