Android Android Lists and Adapters (2015) Updating the Data Model Using JSONArray

Finally, write a 'for' loop that loops through jsonShows. In each step of the loop, use getJSONObject(int index) to get

// JSONObject 'jsonData' was loaded from data.json JSONArray jsonShows = jsonData.getJSONArray("shows"); for (int i = 0; i < jsonShows.length; i++) { JSONObject movie = jsonShows.getJSONObject(i); String title = movie.getString("title"); Log.i("CodeChallenge", TAG); }

CodeChallenge.java
// JSONObject 'jsonData' was loaded from data.json
JSONArray jsonShows = jsonData.getJSONArray("shows");
for (int i = 0; i < jsonShows.length; i++) {
    JSONObject movie = jsonShows.getJSONObject(i);
    String title = movie.getString("title");
    Log.i("CodeChallenge", TAG);
}
}

{
    "name":"Netflix Playlist",
    "shows":[
        {
            "title":"Doctor Who",
            "season":8,
            "episode":3
        },

            "season":4,
            "episode":5
        }
    ]

Hi

The only thing I can spot it the jsonShows.length is probably a method call and as such should have parenthesis at the end as per the below:

JSONArray jsonShows = jsonData.getJSONArray("shows");
for (int i = 0; i < jsonShows.length(); i++) {
    JSONObject movie = jsonShows.getJSONObject(i);
    String title = movie.getString("title");
    Log.i("CodeChallenge", TAG);
}

Hopefully this solves the problem for you, if not please post back more information if possible on what the error is.

Thanks Daniel

Try This ''' JSONArray jsonShows = jsonData.getJSONArray("shows");

    for (int i = 0; i < jsonShows.length(); i++) {
        JSONObject movie = jsonShows.getJSONObject(i);
        String title = movie.getString("title");
        Log.i("CodeChallenge", title);
    }
