Help understanding value.__doc__

Around the 4:50 in the "Switching it UP" video, mark Kenneth Love tries to explain whats going on with the the key and value - printing inside a while loop. Kenneth states that the values are going to be functions because the keys are functions. He then backs up and says he meant values?

Can someone explain this, I am unable to follow the video.

Sorry, this doesn't mention a specific video so I'm not sure which one you mean. I think this is from the diary application. Is that right?
