How to disable proxy?

Hi i tried signing up at dreamhost but when i tried to make an account i got this message:

"Signups are not permitted from this IP address. If you are using a proxy to access the Internet, please disable it and try again. "

I've heard of proxy servers before but i don't really know what that is or why i am getting this message. Can anyone fill me in here? Thanks.

Interesting. Totally agree with Anthony, try different browsers and let us know.

And where did you try to sing up from dreamhost? at home or ?

Your IP address could be masked by any plugins you've installed on your browser or any software you may have. Try using a different browser to sign up and let us know if that works!

Anthony Mejia Konrad Pilch I tried both safari and chrome and on my phone from home and I got the same message. This is a new macbook and i haven't downloaded any plugins..grrr

Update::: I ended up just going to bluehost and that worked just fine...weird...

All solved now?
