I don't understand why after I save the svg like in the video I cannot manage to open them. It looks like this Imgur

What software are you using to make the SVG? Also it looks like you are on windows, and to me there looks to be no default programme set for opening SVG files.

Were you ever able to open the SVG files? You should be able to open them from within Illustrator. In other words, in Illustrator, you can go to File>Open, navigate to the file and open it, and it should appear.
