12,667 PointsIncluding Treehouse on LinkedIn?
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has included Treehouse on their LinkedIn account? Either under experience, education, or projects.
I am considering adding it to my LinkedIn profile, but I thought I would feel out the community first. Is this appropriate? If you were a hiring manager searching for talent on LinkedIn, what would you think?
Thanks, Austin

Why not add Treehouse? I would certainly recommend adding Treehouse just to show that you have been learning and have gone out of your own way to visit the site and do so!
That's just my two cents though... -Luke

Courses Plus Student 27,349 PointsHi Austin, great to have you on the Treehouse forums!
Adding Treehouse to your LinkedIn profile can't do any harm, in fact it would show you are a self starter making the effort to learn a vast array of awesome skills
In addition to that, you might even be able to link to your LinkedIn an online portfolio of some examples demonstrating your work. That's what I did.
I went for a job interview a while back and I had not been to a University or got a formal college education. What I had was my laptop that I brought with me and the knowledge I had learned from Treehouse.
I was able to demonstrate examples and a clear understanding of my code. Learning online, not just in our industry but right across the board in other fields, is becoming the way of the future.
You can even include treehouse IN your online portfolio
Check out this forum topic where one of the students came up with a really novel way to show his knowledge from Treehouse here
Be proud of your achievements and your knowledge earned on Treehouse
And the way I see it, every single ounce of competitive edge you can get against potential competitor job seekers is a bonus
Happy coding!

12,667 PointsThank you for the feedback! After reading the responses, I feel pretty confident about adding it to my LinkedIn profile. I feel it displays a sense of initiative from a person. Coding is a challenging thing, and it says a lot about an individual who decided to take an available resource like treehouse, and utilize it to teach themselves something difficult.

1,815 PointsI came here wondering if Treehouse might be connected to Linkedin the way that Linkedin Learning is connected to your profile, how you can share your learning accomplishments very easily. I know it's slightly off topic, but would be very cool.
