the mRelease member variableis already stored as Data object.Convert it and return using the SimpleDateFormat variable

Everything you've done is right but you've not put it all in one method:

  public String getFormattedReleaseDate(){
    SimpleDateFormat simpleDate = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd");
    return simpleDate.format(mReleaseDate);
