Design Sketch Basics Build a Mobile Interface Creating a Wireframe

When Portrait - 6 loads on the Canvas, my size differs from the size in the video.

In both the video and my version of Sketch (3.2.2), Portrait 6 Template says in the side it has a screen size of 750x1334. When I click that like instructed to do so in the video, on my canvas, I get this size of an art board. But when he does it, he gets one of size 375x667. Which seems like half. So when placing template elements on the dartboard, they're very small.

Sure, not a big deal, I can resize the art board.

But I've been having a problem when designing my iOS app in Sketch lately. It seems when using these templates, sizing icons, or images (wire framing) and then exporting them to be used in xCode, they don't come across the same (sizing). So I think I've found my problem is because I'm designing possibly on a template too big.

Any suggestions besides resizing my templates every time I use them?

Kristofer Doman , that makes sense - if you're designing at 2x, which it seems like you are, export at a 1x scale. That way, your already large images, won't be doubled in size.

To export as a true 1x size, export to a scale of 0.5x This will half the size of your slices.

Hi Kristofer, please see this thread - https://teamtreehouse.com/forum/ios-design-templates-too-small-for-iphone-artboard

What scale are you exporting your assets at? For use with Xcode, it should be @2x. Then the point size will match the number of pixels as there's 2px for 1pt.

Yes, I understand the relation with @2x and @3x. The problem was when choosing the 6 template and it came out on the canvas at 750x13**. I designed my icons on that, so when exported @2x, they'd actually appear bigger on the iPhone 6 than intended, if that makes sense. Anyways, the link helped. Thanks.

Hi there! I have the same question as Kristofer regarding the pre default size of the artboard. Since I am intending to use Sketch for wireframes only it would be sweet to have the artboard by default become the pt size (like for you when choosing iphone 6 getting 375x667 ). Is there a way to make it become that instead?

Our next update will have artboards at the '1x' pt size, but for the time being, you can right click any of the artboard presets after pressing A and then selecting 'Edit Preset' from the menu. The fields to enter the size will appear at the bottom of the list. Hope that helps!

If you download the sketch 3 beta, it actually does this. Use it at your own risk though :)
