Benefits of Becoming a Mod?

What are the benefits of becoming a moderator on the treehouse forum?

Caleb,

By benefits I mean what does one get in return for being a mod?

The warm fuzzy feeling of helping others? A reduction on price of membership or a free membership? etc

Nothing that I can think of except an orange circle around your profile photo.

You can put it on your résumé as volunteer work helping other students.

Cool! Thank you!

Goes very well on your LinkedIn page if you have one.

Can MOD's mark any answers on the forums as best answer instead of just their own posts?

Yes we can.

Caleb Kleveter,

Can MOD's mark any answers on the forums as best answer instead of just their own posts?

As Colin Marshall mentioned we can but it's not a tool we simply use for our own benefits, from time-to-time I go back through old posts in the forum and assign correct answers as a lot of posts get missed and the OP (original poster) forgets to mark the most helpful answer.
