Java Web Development Techdegree Graduate 22,175 PointsLeaderboards for 'All time' and by 'Language' aren't working anymore
Leaderboards for 'All Time' and by 'Language' doesn't work anymore. For example, I used to be #33 in Java. Craig Dennis was first, for 'All Time', 'Java'. Right now first one is someone with 63 Java points. And its not only for Java, for other languages too.
Not that It is very important, but I really liked watching there. So if anyone from Treehouse can fix, that'd be great.
Thanks!

Java Web Development Techdegree Graduate 22,175 PointsThey've been working three may be 4 weeks ago. I've used to take a look there. I'll wait for a week or so, and then try to write e-mail. Thanks for a hint, Steven.

231,236 PointsA few of the most recently added categories did not exhibit the errors until recently. Some older categories have had the problem for about 10 months.
It seems like once the errors begin to occur in a category, they continue to get more numerous (and more exaggerated — some category scores are many times the person's total score).

Treehouse Moderator 68,441 PointsAnd.... it still persists Today! Very frustrating! Given that the weekly and monthly totals are dynamically tracked, it seems unlikely that it's a technical limitation. Probably just too low on the priority list, or was on the priority list of a recently downsized developer. Time to reiterate a request to "help@"

As of yesterday, the problem affecting the leaderboards appears to have been resolved.

231,236 PointsHi Chris Freeman,
There's been a bit more info on this issue recently from another staff member in a newer thread. But the priority of this item may continue to get pushed back since there are some new issues that may be considered more important like tracks not recognizing completed courses.
But by all means write (again) to Support — more requests can't hurt.

Java Web Development Techdegree Graduate 22,175 PointsIt is sad, that there is no online bug tracker, where we can see which bugs are prioritized, so that we can vote for that, like YouTrack.
This way we could've voted for that and see how things are going ...
I guess Steven Parker we should admit, that not so many people actually know about leaderboards, and even less people care whether leaderboards are working or not.
I would not be surprised, if they would remove one day that 'Leaderboards' completely, because fixing it simply is needed for a rather small amount of people, or this page is visited quite rarely.

231,236 PointsIf you read the more recent topic, you'll see where support staff member Rob Allessi indicates that he has "been doing what I can in bringing attention to this matter" and that "it's being actively looked into".
While I wouldn't completely discount the possibility of the leaderboards being removed, the fact that it wasn't done a year ago gives me hope that it will still get fixed. Also, I expect the folks at Treehouse understand that not every student will report a bug that doesn't immediately impact their learning progress, even if it negatively influences their overall experience. And even fewer are likely to report an issue once they find that it has already been brought up in the forum, particularly when they see the staff assurances that "it's being actively looked into".
Plus, we have no idea how many direct messages have been received by email to Support anyway.

231,236 PointsPeople have been posting about leaderboard issues for over 10 months now. And with specific evidence of errors for at least 8 months. I have been completely baffled by why Treehouse would allow something that reflects so badly on the very skills that are being taught to persist for so long. Except for this issue, I have been a very happy student.
I've been writing directly to Treehouse Support every month or two now for about half a year — first to request repair, and then to ask for status updates. It might help if more folks do the same.
