Friends do not add or get removed when clicked

I'm having a bit of trouble in that my friends are not being added or removed when clicked. For example, once you select the name you would like to have as a friend, you have to select an different one for the original name to appear in friends.. Also, my names are staying highlighted when clicked.

I have double checked everything and my code is the same as the videos. Could this be because of differences in the latest IOS/xcode?

Make sure that you selected / added the correct method. 

- (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
 {
// insert code here
