Keyboard shortcuts for Treehouse embedded video player on the Web?

I keep switching between my workspace, HTML editor and a course video that I have on playback in a separate window. I tend to do all the frequent tasks by keyboard shortcuts, including refreshing a window, switching between windows and tabs etc. Every time i need to do anything involving playing or pausing a video, I have to switch to mouse control, which totally breaks the flow. I tried some standard shortcuts but none of them worked for me on the player.

Did anyone find any working shortcuts for the Treehouse embedded player?

Hi Olga, there are a couple of things you can do. Probably the best solution is multiple monitors. Other things you can do would be a browser extension to organize and resize windows, or simply cmd + tab (Mac) to cycle through windows alt + tab (Windows).

For the video player most times spacebar should work to pause and play the video, and right and left arrows to skip forward and backward.

I just discovered by mistake that CTRL+F toggles full-screen mode on the video.

Would like to know if there is one for going back 10 secs? Is this a video player framework or built by Treehouse?

These are all common shortcut keys for most video players. I think Treehouse uses MediaElement.js. It's an HTML5 player with flash fallback, I believe.

Are there some shortcut for playing speed?

For me it is usually needed to switcht slower/faster because some points i understand good, but at some i want to listen teacher a bit slower.

Yeap I think is a good idea too add shorcuts for speed and subtitles and make easyto see the shortcuts in the video screen witha help button or something

I also feel that I absolutely need space bar to pause the video and arrows up/down for speed change. When I learn I code along and jump between windows - resume video without a additional wrist crunching track pad move would be amazing!
