Is a Windows phone version in the works and courses for Windows development? Because a lot of my high school friends at our high school computer club want to make apps for all major platforms like Android, ios, Windows, and Blackberry.

I don't work for Treehouse but ...

I don't think you'll ever see any content for Windows phone or Blackberry on Treehouse, the market share just isn't there.

Haha...yes, while we want to be at the front of the tech curve, we have to plan our resources according to student demands and needs, and at this point there aren't enough Windows Phone users to warrant the development effort. That might change in the future, though!

As for regular Windows development, there are quite a lot of jobs for .NET and the like, and that is something we hope to add to the library sooner or later. There's a case where we can allocate our resources to hopefully help a large number of students. :)

Thank you for the feedback :) Got Some new feature ideas:

Project evaluation Remote Desktop help like google plus Group pages Operating system course like steve jobs creating the MAC OS Robotic Programming PC games and software programming Console games PSN and Xbox Live development
Ai like siri course Screenshot problems and share in forums some Offline capabilities Certificate completion Maybe a hacking/security course

Were there any plans to integrate the forum in the app, or was this a design decision?

Finally! And the app is actually usable! More than that. It's awesome! Code challenges just the way they should be done. Great job!!

Hey guys, I'm so happy there's been such a great response to the app! I can't tell you how much it means to us. We put a lot of effort into making the learning experience the best one possible here at Treehouse, so it's always nice to hear that feedback.

I just wanted to give a quick update on what our short-term roadmap looks like to keep you all in the loop.

Right now, I'm working through addressing a few issues we've seen from a handful of students, but here's a short list of features we are hoping to add in time:

  • The ability to sign up directly within the app
  • Access to Workshops from within the app
  • Chromecast support
  • Download videos for offline viewing
  • Limited support for the app when using the Android L Developer Preview
  • Continual bug fixing of anything that rears its head

I can say personally that I can't wait to add support for Chromecast and downloading videos!

The other two big features I've seen requested are Forums and Workspaces from within the app.

Forums is something we would like to include the app eventually, but we are still working through how best to integrate it. So for the time being it's lower priority than the stuff we can immediately take action on.

Workspaces is particularly tricky. I actually worked on Workspaces before starting on the Android app and I think it's a fantastic tool. I'd love to be able to access my Workspaces from our mobile apps. There are, however, a lot of complicated aspects to Workspaces that would make it extremely challenging to make available on mobile (both platforms). This is something I would like to continue to look at, but unfortunately I don't think will be possible for us in the near future.

So, keep an eye out for updates in the Play Store. Let us know if there's anything that we can fix and, as always, don't forget to rate us if you like the app!

Chromecast support would be great. Hoping that one comes soon! I think it works pretty decent casting with a Nexus device, but Chromecast is so much smoother.

There also seems to be a delay with courses on the app. I'm not seeing the new one on WordPress Theme Development.
