How can I get a virtual client to sign a contract before a web development project starts?

1) Echosign (paid) 2) The 'ol email contract >> they sign >> fax back (or scan/email back) 3) Submit a proposal with an "accept" button (I've used Freshboks, QuoteRoller, and Pancake Payments)
Always make sure there is a signed contract, and it's best to make sure they make a deposit before you start working,
75%+ of my clients are out-of-state, and some out-of-country. I have used most of these services with my local clients too - it saves meeting in person, and allows both the client and me to focus on what we do best (instead of wasting extra time on admin stuff).
