Python

I think Python would make this site the ultimate site to go to for programming and web development.

Maybe if there was a Django course and the Python deep dive like there is for Ruby on Rails.

If you are interested in learning Python today you can check out either http://learnpythonthehardway.org/book/ http://www.codecademy.com/tracks/python

After you are done with those you can practice your new found Python skills over at Coding Bat

Django or GAE sounds great to me (: or even a simple web site using Python as the backend. But, it seems like the treehouse developers are more proficient in Ruby, Java and Javascript

I agree Python would be a nice addition to Treehouse.

For now Udacity's 'Introduction to Computer Science' course covers Python. http://www.udacity.com/overview/Course/cs101/CourseRev/apr2012

Hey guys! Thank you so much for your feedback :) I'll point this out to Nick this afternoon. Just so you all know - we are planning on covering Python, Django and more :) We are working on bringing in more teachers so we can devote a lot more time to several back-end technologies. Should be in the next couple of months or so. The plan is to create brand new courses for all of these, including badges, quizzes, and challenges.

Keep the topic-requests comin'! We definitely want to make sure we're teaching the right stuff ;)

WOOOOHOOOOO!

Any update on a Python/Django track? I'm really looking forward to this, and I'm probably not alone

I am interested in learning Python as well!

Django/ Python and then even Drupal would be good to see. Though there are already so many learning adventures/deep dives etc. who knows when to find time to go through them.

Any updates? I can't wait for this course!!

If Treehouse moved to offer courses in Python, C, and other programming languages, I would probably maintain my membership for life.

I can see Treehouse doing a Python Foundations Course in prep for a Django course. Just like an Objective-C for iOS.

However C itself doesn't really fit with Treehouse's target market of teaching you to make apps for the Web & Mobile space.

Yes, I understand that, but I would be very happy if Treehouse became more than just an educational resource for mobile/web apps, with this format I would be happy to learn a wide variety of topics, things like physics, mathematics etc--I find this format to be far more educational than even my university courses and would gladly pay for any multitude of topics which involve high production quality coupled with quizzes and applicational challenges.

:)

Ryan Carson I'm looking at you man! Hahaha :D

Python + Flask would be the best option I think. Flask has been very interesting to learn as I begin my path into web development. Flask is extremely beginner friendly.
