The phpMyAdmin configuration storage has been deactivated.

I set up Xampp and am in the process of trying to setup wordpress (on a PC).
I'm following theses instructions: https://teamtreehouse.com/community/i-need-a-step-by-step-of-how-to-install-wordpress-locally-on-a-pc-this-video-does-it-for-the-mac-confused

I'm now on #10. I set up a database called myproject

While trying to figure out why it wasn't working, I found: "The phpMyAdmin configuration storage has been deactivated. Find out why." in Operations

I click on Find Out Why and got: Please see the documentation on how to update your column_info table. Documentation

I clicked on that and got this page: http://localhost:8080/phpmyadmin/doc/html/config.html#cfg_Servers_column_info

I have NO idea what to do here.

The first instruction is: set up $cfg['Servers'][$i]['pmadb'] and the phpMyAdmin configuration storage which is Greek to me.

Please help.

Could you provide some screenshots perhaps so we can see what is going on in more detail?

Could you please tell me how to upload images? Sorry- brand new at this.

No problem. Well there are several different image hosting websites you can use to upload. You can google for some or use this http://postimage.org/

Upload your screenshots then post the link for people to view them on here.

Ok I think it's something in your wp-config.php folder. You may have accidently setup Wordpress using an incorrect user or pass. Check it out and if you can't figure it out then maybe screenshot the file and let me take a look.

No success. I checked and rechecked the username & password. I added another screenshot- tomcat error message. Could that be the problem?

Link to new screenshot?

I don't see it there?

Hmm, I'm not really sure :/ You might have setup XAMPP incorrectly.

OK, last ditch effort: I was looking in the Tomcat server.xml and found this: <Server port="8005" shutdown="SHUTDOWN"> Could that be something?

Found what?
