Accidently (screwed up?) downloaded intel haxm with Android Studio? How best to fix? Please help!

I accidently clicked the box to download the accelerator with AS. Following the treehouse installation tutorial, when I tried to install version 6.0.1 of intelhaxm, it told me I already had version 1.1.1 installed.

  1. Can I just uninstall and re-install the correct version of intelhaxm or will it cause problems with AS? And 2. Will I need to delete every trace of intelhaxm like we do when re-installing AS?
