element question

On MDN the
element also holds the email address and website.

Why did the teacher place the email and phone fields outside the
element?

I think the teacher was just trying to show us when to use the
element in the video. Not the contents of the
element. And for the email and phone being placed outside the address, he was just trying to show how the element can be used to markup text. That's just my thought.

I am pretty sure that you can include email and website and
tag.
