Advance social features -Push updates issue

I'm trying to implement the push updates feature from the rails advances social course. but for some reason the pollActivity function keep getting errors "Uncaught ReferenceError: Routes is not definedpollActivity @ VM111 application.js?body=1:54"

How can i fix that? should i enter the whole message url instead of Routes.message_path
