Now add an URL for NameView. Give it the route name/.

myproject/urls.py 
from django.conf.urls import url, include

from . import views

urlpatterns = [
    url(r'^$', views.WelcomeView.as_view()),
]
myproject/views.py 
from django.http import HttpResponse
from django.views.generic import View, TemplateView


class WelcomeView(View):
    def get(self, request):
        return HttpResponse("Treehouse!")

class NameView(TemplateView):
    template_name = "name.html"

The format needed can be seen in the WelcomeView url:

url(r'^$', views.WelcomeView.as_view()),

Copy the url line, then

  • change the path regex to include name/ between the ^ and the $
  • change the view name to NameView
