Another explanation ofAPIs?

Hi! I don't fully understand what APIs are, and for what we can use them, so could someone please explain them once more?

"A good API makes it easier to develop a program by providing all the building blocks, which are then put together by the programmer"

Hi Gabor,

API save you a lot of time and help you to programm things faster and give you the tools to do so.

So, virtually all software has to request other software (API) to do some things for you. Google gives you APIs to programm APPs and supplies the programmer with methods to do what you want.

I hope I could help :)
