Any idea why this isn't working?

A semi-colon does not come after closing PHP tags. Doing so just renders it on the page as if it was HTML content. Here is my take at it, I've added some concatenation using the dot operator.

$movie = array("title" => "The Empire Strikes Back");
echo "<h1>".$movie['title']." (1981)</h1>";
?>
