are there any prerequisites for this course? do I need to know java?

I dont know java. can I take this course?

Yes, node js is a JavaScript platform, it's just back end JavaScript. Its quite advanced so I recommend doing some basic JS or you may have trouble following it

Hey

Java is a completely different language from Javascript. Java is a back end language, where as JavaScript is used mainly on the front end, and used on the back end as part of the nodejs platform. So no, you don't need to know any Java.....I dont :)

I would recommend the basics of Javascript first though.

p.s node is really challenging, but fun...good luck
