Arent associative arrays very similar to objects in javascript?

Except for the methods of course, only the properties.

And in Javascript i can also use bracket notation to "call" the property, just like with associative arrays in php

Seems very similar to me.

A php array is (sort of) an object.. So that makes sense! You will see similarity in objects between a lot of different languages because an object has a standard-ish definition.

Ok thanks, that will help me associate associate arrays with objects (as in javascript)
