Do I need to add the word result? Thanks.

arrays.swift
var arrayOfInts = [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
arrayOfInts.append("7")
arrayOfInts += ["8"]

No you shouldn't need the word result. But you have declared an array of Integers but you are trying to assign string values "7" and "8" to an Integer array. These need to be:

arrayOfInts.append(7)
arrayOfInts += [8]
