Background jobs in rails workshop or course

Hi, Im trying to find here in treehouse any material to learn more about background processes, I just know about it and I do not have any idea where to use in my an application I developed application, I found several material on the internet but any of those for nobais like me =(

Is there any useful material here in treehouse about this topic? because I could not find anything useful,

I found that any serious application must use background jobs for its processes, so please if you do not have anything about it please add learning material about this topic!
