alert("hello"); document.write("<h1>Welcome to JavaScript<h1>"); alert("Thanks for visiting.");

Try this, your DOM probably isn't ready

$( document ).ready(function() { alert("hello"); document.write("Welcome to JavaScript"); alert("Thanks for visiting."); });
