Between auto annual renewal or not when I first purchase a domain name, can I change this afterward?

If I choose not to renew automatically at first, can I make it automatic later? Also, is annual yearly from the date I purchase the domain?

Yes you can, who did you buy the domain from? godaddy? namecheap? or else?

I haven't gotten it yet--I wanted to wait until I new more, but it will be from namecheap.

Oh ok, I use namecheap all the time they actually have a very friendly user interface and also affordable hosting services that you should look in to.. I tried multiple hosting services and they are pretty stable and affordable. If you need help with setting up your site and working with the C-Panel and FTP let me know and I will walk you trough.
