BroadcastReceiver Android

I just created a Broadcast Receiver for receiving sms and it worked fine on android emulator but on real device it didn't work when app is closed.

Manifest:

   <receiver android:name=".SmsReceiver" android:exported="true" android:enabled="true" 
     android:directBootAware="true">
    <intent-filter android:priority="2147483647">
        <action android:name="android.provider.Telephony.SMS_RECEIVED" />
    </intent-filter>
</receiver>

Permissions:

<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.RECEIVE_SMS" />
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.READ_SMS" />
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.WRITE_SMS" />
<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.SEND_SMS" />

SmsReceiver code works fine because it receives sms on emulator
