I tried the task with the following code email_greeting = "{} loves {}".format(name,treehouse) but it does not pass, and the site is now is a loop as I cannot pass that code challenge- I tried the same code in my python interpreter and it works fine- even rewatched the video--

Treehouse Guest TeacherRead the challenge again. It should end up with a message like "Treehouse loves Thomas". I think you got a couple of things backwards.
