PHP PHP Basics PHP on the Web Date Function

bugs

this is my code: <?php echo "Today is "; $date1 = date('F d, Y'); echo $date1; ?> but it keeps giving me bugs

index.php
<?php
echo "Today is ";
//Place your code below this comment
$date1 = date('F d, Y');
echo $date1;

?>

Nothing wrong with the code per se, but perhaps how treehouse decides the answer is correct. I completed this challenge by removing the variable you created.

<?php

echo "Today is ";
//Place your code below this comment
echo date('F d, Y');

?>
