buttons disappear in the layout

I have followed along the video, and when I tried to run it the text changes into the user name. However the 2 buttons for choice1 and choice 2 suddenly disappeared. Why does this happen ?

In my case the buttons didn't show because the text was empty. Check your Story.java file to be sure that the buttons have some text there.
