iOS Swift Functions and Optionals Functions Syntax and Parameters

calling the function

func greeting(person: String) { println("Hello (greeting)") }

greeting(Tom)

parameters.swift 
func greeting(person: String) {
    println("Hello \(greeting)")
}

Hi Kent!

It looks like you're trying to pass the function into the print statement instead of the parameter.

func greeting(person: String) {
  println("Hello \(person)")
}

greeting("Tom")

Also remember the quotation marks around your greeting parameter. Hope this helps! :)
